Our camp is staffed with caring teaching artist who have experience in both the arts and working with NYC children in public schools. As a parent you are probably wondering What does A Typical Day at Camp by Rae looks like? We are a small program (space is limited) and we pack a lot into our fun filled camp day.
Camp Activities include:
Arts & Crafts
Meditation & Mindfulness
8:50am- Drama and Acting: we’ll use theater games and practice monologues
9:45am-Dance: whether it’s Hip Hop Dance, Jazz Dance, or World Dance campers will move their bodies to the beat while strengthening their dance technique.
10:45am- Music Exploration: Campers will develop singing skills and learn to sing as a group. Percussion instruments will also be explored.
11:45am- Fun With Food: Campers will make a small group meal and learn basic cooking skills. This does not replace lunch. Fun food crafts may include: Bumps on a log, Fresh Fruit Smoothies.
1:00pm- Playtime at the Park: It’s summer! Let’s enjoy the great outdoors!
1:45pm-Arts & Crafts: Campers will use their artistic skills to create items for our play.
2:30pm- Show Prep: Let’s bring it all together. It’s time to create our story, cast our actors, and plan our amazing play or musical.
4:00pm- Snack Time: Snack is provided by Camp (animal crackers, trail mix, popcorn).
4:30pm- Meditation & Mindfulness: We’ll end the day with stretching and reflection as campers learn the importance of slowing down in order to stay at peak performance.
5:00pm- Pick Up Time! Campers are packed and ready to head home. Remember pick up is by 5:30pm. Extended day is available up until 6pm for an additional fee.
