Acting ages 10 and up

In this 55 minute class actors will use theater games to develop a character and act out short scenes with classmates. Students will take turns acting out real material including: commercial copy, television scripts, and plays. Each student will receive feedback and a “director’s note”. The teacher will provide a director’s note to students to encourage different character choices. Students will then be asked to perform the same material while incorporating the notes given. At the end of each session students are encouraged to memorize copy and be prepared to perform the scene in the next session. Students are encouraged to “get into character” by using props and dressing up as the character.

No acting experience is required. Adjustments are made to support students who struggle with reading/ have dyslexia.
